General.

A consistent and proven concept of success is that if something is successful in an industry or any specific area of life then invariably the fundamentals that create that success can be applied to other fields of endeavour.  For example, it is well documented that the rise of Courier Services which FEDEX created and in which they still lead the field, was wholly based on the principles of Dairy Farming.

This book explores the concepts, techniques and skills of Special Forces, who enjoy an unshakeable belief in their excellence across the entire spectrum of society, and submits those fundamentals in such a manner as to be applied in everyday life for everyday lifestyles.

The book can be read through as a manual of Excellence, dipped into frequently to attain specific guidance on a subject of interest, or by choosing a random ‘Subject for the day’.

Whilst faddy and fashionably popular techniques may come and go, excellence is perennial.  The pursuit of excellence by individuals is as old as mankind’s first faltering steps on this planet and the evolution of the excellence of the Warrior Class in society is as old as the first building blocks of civilisation itself.  When two such ageless elements are drawn together, timeless strategies for future success are likely to be the result.

The Author.

Simon Treselyan joined the British Army as a boy soldier in 1976 in the Royal Signals, transferring to the Intelligence Corps, where he became the youngest person ever to pass the long and gruelling eight-month selection course.  In 1978 he was selected for ‘Special Duties’ and served with 14 Intelligence Company as a Surveillance Operator.  During his first sixteen years service he was employed in various Special Forces units as an Agent Handler; Surveillance Operator; Field Source Controller; Section Sergeant Major and eventually Section Commander.  Simon was decorated for Gallantry in 1988.  He served with SAS and Commando units as well as Foreign Special Forces and Intelligence Services worldwide.

The final three years of his Military service was as an Operational Interrogator and Debriefing Officer where he became involved in the debriefing of torture victims and refugees of the Balkans and Middle East conflicts.  He left the Military in 1994 as a Debriefing Officer for the Ministry of Defence, being nominated for an MBE for his service.

Simon saw what made winners and losers out of life and the recipes people adopt to achieve either end result.  He now conducts lectures and seminars worldwide on Human Potential, Personal Development and Peak Performance for individuals and major corporations alike.  His unique Special Forces experience and qualities have provided for the development of highly impacting and effective training methods, to allow people to harness untapped resources and be the best that they can be.  Simon is a regular contributor to magazines and has appeared numerous times in the popular press and TV.

More recently Simon was the person that broke the Fake 'Iraq Torture Photos' scandal that made headlines worldwide.  It was his expertise in identifying key clues proving the potentially damaging photos were faked, that was to see the event central in Prime Minister’s Question Time, provoked a Police and Military investigation and culminated in the sacking of the Daily Mirror Editor, Piers Morgan.  It was recently voted number 49 in Sky TV’s ‘100 worst blunders of all time’.
